For those of you who are new to this author...

Misty Lynn crafts captivating mystery novels, aiming to blend entertainment and humor for her readers.

She lives in a quaint town in Pennsylvania, just a stone's throw from Gettysburg. Where she resides with her family and miniature schnauzer. Since her house is full of energetic men, she added a chicken coop to the backyard for some female companionship.

What is this new short story about, you ask? Check out the back blurb here:

Can a house truly be haunted?

Counterintelligence agent Sydney Hayes has spent her first few months in Gettysburg dodging bullets, crazed chickens, and Detective Blake Hawkins. Just when she thinks things are about to settle down, Gina ropes her into helping investigate the haunted Graver Hill Mansion. Sydney doesn’t believe in ghosts, and becoming a ghostbuster has never been her thing. However, with the eerie sounds and unsettling occurrences, she finds herself reconsidering her disbelief in the paranormal. Sydney finds herself being sucked into a century-old mystery involving the restless spirit of a Civil War-era ghost.

As if the search for the supernatural wasn’t enough, a friend of Gina’s is found dead under mysterious circumstances. When the local police hastily rule it an accident, Sydney’s intuition kicks in. Determined to seek the truth and potentially uncover the identity of a killer, she resolves to take matters into her own hands.

Can Sydney and Gina solve both cases, or will they take their own place among the spirits haunting Gettysburg?

And the cover is...(🥁drum roll please)

An Un-Civil Spirit Cover

Does this book belong to a series? (If so, please describe a little)

An Un-Civil Spirit is the fourth book in my “Sydney Hayes” series. If you haven't read the earlier books in the series yet, fear not. Each book includes recaps, so you can start the series with any book without getting lost.

How does the front cover relate to your storyline?

The series takes place in Gettysburg, and as I say, you can't have a book series in Gettysburg without having a haunted house book. Hence the creation of An Un-Civil Spirit. The tale unfolds in the mansion on the book cover, which is inspired by the real-life Cocker Hill Mansion built in 1821. I was allowed several personal tours of the property and spent hours wandering the beautiful building and grounds, drawing inspiration for my story. The secrets of the dog and doll on the cover are waiting to be revealed inside the pages of the book.

What makes your main character so relatable?

I love the main character, who embodies intelligence and strength and isn't afraid to run towards danger. She is independent and doesn't need a man to protect or save her from the trouble she gets into. Not that there isn't a handsome detective waiting on the sidelines.

One Silly Fact About Me: Sometimes when I'm cooking, I like to dance around the kitchen and sing, much to the chagrin of my kids.

Misty Lynn’s upcoming release, An Un-Civil Spirit, is scheduled to be released this October. For more information on her books, please visit her website: https://mistic128.wixsite.com/mistylynnbooks.
