Face Painting for Fido Cover Reveal

Sarah Ickes Cover Reveal Promo Image

For those of you who are new to this author...

Sarah Ickes has a devoted passion to art, a love for reading and writing, and has an old soul when it comes to television and films. Though she has a degree in Fine Arts, her life is not as simple as a piece of paper. She has worked in retail management, web designing, and marketing to name a few of the realms of her experiences. The pets in her life take precedence, as anyone with animals knows. Her interest in historical America comes vividly to life in her “Murial Robertson Mysteries,” which is what started it all! Currently, she also has the "Vectra Tillerman Adventures" (action/adventure/greek myth/steampunk), the "Cybil Lawson Mysteries" (cozy/light-hearted traditional mystery), “Margaret Everton” (historical/cozy mystery), and her latest release, Missing in Yuletown.

What is this new short story about, you ask? Check out the back blurb here:

After Pastor Lawrence decided it was time to restore their church’s old bell, and help celebrate the country's 250th anniversary, both Cybil and Yasmin are roped into spearheading the fundraiser. Assisting her friend in selling Ralph’s drinks at the church's event, Cybil sneezes her way through the day better than her aching body thought possible. That is, until the money box is stolen during an abrupt visit from an ambulance and the pastor's wife begins to act strangely. Can she figure out who took the church’s funds before the thief escapes with the loot? Or will their bell, named Fido, be left muted on the fourth of July?

And the cover is...(🥁drum roll please)

Face Painting for Fido Cover

How does the front cover relate to your storyline?

The cover for this short story depicts one of the wooden booths that was assembled by the church’s volunteers for the fundraising event. It also depicts the paint bottles from the face painting stand, the drinks Cybil and Yasmin are selling at the fundraiser, and a few other small details you’ll learn about in the book!

Does this book belong to a series? (If so, please describe a little)

This short story is part of my “Cybil Lawson Mysteries” and falls in-between the second and third books in the series. Cybil, my main character, work at an arts and crafts store while her roommate, and best friend, Yasmin Manahan, tends "bar" at Ralph's Dry Bar.

In The Ghost of Christmas Pastel, the duo find themselves in the midst of a dangerous mystery when the choir director is found murdered in the snow, and In Plein Air Sight, the danger extends to Cybil's parents when someone is discovered stabbed to death in a catio. As for the third one, Hauled Over the Charcoal, you'll have to wait to find out!

Does your front cover include any animals? (Please tell us more about their part in the mystery)

Cybil’s goldfish, Norris, is on the front cover of this novella, as he'll be on the front of all of the books in this series. While he does not play a large part in this specific short story, he does manage to help in the other books…in his own way.

One Silly Fact About Me: I can't drink "Snapple Apple" warm, only cold.

Sarah's short story, Face Painting for Fido, is scheduled to be released this Summer/Fall. For more information on her books, please visit her website: https://www.sarahickesart.com/.
